Back to School: January 2021

3rd Jan 2021

Dear Parents / Carers

On the morning of 31st December 2020 the Minister for Education issued a statement altering the
approach to reopening schools in early January 2021.

  1. From week beginning Monday 4 January:

Primary school pupils will be taught remotely until 8th January, after which they will attend school for face-to-face teaching from Monday 11th January 2021.
  2. The first day of the normal school term can be used to prepare for the rest of the week. This means that: Kirkinriola Primary School Pupils in P1-7 will be taught remotely from Wednesday 6th January 2021.
  3. During this time vulnerable children and the children of key workers can attend their own school for supervised learning. This means that: Kirkinriola Primary School will open for vulnerable children and children of key workers on Tuesday 5th January 2021 - Friday 8th January 2021, 8.45am- 2pm.                                                                                                                                                       Please use this link to check if your child is eligible for this provision and if so, please email me @  , before Monday 4th January at 3pm, to organise a place.

Due to the timing of these alterations, all staff at Kirkinriola Primary School have been required to re-engage with work during their planned holidays and I would like to thank them most sincerely for their dedicated commitment to our pupils. Our growing school is truly blessed with the biggest heart.

May I also take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year filled with hope, love and joy.

Kind regards,

Emily McCaffery
